Personal Income Improves in Maine

Some good news on the economic front for Maine. According to statistics released by the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, per capita income in Maine increased 1% in 2009.

Although this result on the surface may appear small, most other states in New England experienced declines.

For the entire US, there was a decline as well (2.6%). Given the state of the overall economy of the past 12 to 18 months, I guess that is not all that surprising.
