Some good news on the economic front for Maine. According to statistics released by the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, per capita income in Maine increased 1% in 2009.
Although this result on the surface may appear small, most other states in New England experienced declines.

For the entire US, there was a decline as well (2.6%). Given the state of the overall economy of the past 12 to 18 months, I guess that is not all that surprising.
